KUALA LUMPUR: A house painter was charged at the magistrate’s court today with murdering his own brother over an alleged fight over television.

Lim Hock Ann, 56, nodded his head to indicate that he understood the charge that was read to him before magistrate Wong Chai Sia.

However, no plea was recorded.

Hock Ann was charged with killing his younger brother Hock Soon, 48, who was doing his work at the living room of Flat Sri Murni, Jalan 1/20, Taman Sri Murni, Sentul, here, between 4.30am and 5am on Oct 6.

The accused was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code which carries a mandatory death sentence, if convicted.

The court fixed Dec 12 for mention pending the forensics and medical report.

Deputy public prosecutor Afiq Nazri Zaharinan prosecuted while the accused was unrepresented.
